SAT score range

Estimate (no official table)

Section and total score ranges from the number of right answers — with the official table of a College Board paper practice test.

No exact score can be computed
The digital SAT is adaptive and scored with IRT: the same number of right answers can give different scores, and there is no official raw-to-scale table. This calculator uses College Board’s official table of a paper (linear) practice test (Practice Test #8) and shows the result as a range.

Section scores are 200–800 in steps of 10, the total 400–1600. On different test forms the same raw score can differ by 10–20 points.

In the digital test each section has 2 modules (RW 2 × 27, Math 2 × 22 questions; 2 pretest questions per module do not count) and the second module depends on the first. So a digital test’s number of right answers cannot be put into this table directly.
